System Design: Optimized Delivery Solutions
I designed the Apis Parcel delivery system to offer two main ways for customers to receive packages: they can either schedule a to-your-door delivery using the autonomous small robot or pick up their packages from the nearest large autonomous parcel carrier. The system leverages machine learning to plan optimal delivery routes based on customer location and pick-up time. Additionally, Apis Parcel can manage outgoing mail by dispatching either the carrier or the small robot, depending on your plan or schedule.
Seamless Interaction: Mobile App Design
I designed the Apis Parcel mobile app to streamline customer interaction with the Apis system. Customers can check real-time package status, know exactly where their package is, and easily schedule pick-ups and drop-offs directly from their phone—eliminating the need for complex website navigation. The app also simplifies payments, and users can engage with the carrier or robot terminal by simply scanning a QR code.
Brand Identity and Design for Apis Parcel
I designed Apis Parcel to embody an upbeat, fast-paced energy through its vibrant orange color. The logo draws inspiration from packaging box, traffic sign, and honeycomb, symbolizing safety, efficiency, autonomy, and storage. Additionally, I designed the packaging tape graphics based on the Apis Parcel logo, further reinforcing the brand’s identity. This serves as an effective way to promote the brand to customers every time they hold a package delivered by Apis.
The Same Experience on the Apple Watch.
For the Apis Parcel Apple Watch app, I designed and streamlined the interface to focus on essential functions, allowing customers to quickly check their packages' 20 or schedule a pick-up on-the-go.
Key Learnings and Insights
Through the Apis Parcel project, I went beyond interface design to deliver a comprehensive solution that integrates system, industrial, brand, and service design. The project addressed a complex problem by streamlining the package delivery process, making it more organic and user-centric. I also challenged myself to expand my skills, embracing innovation to effectively present my ideas and tranform them into impactful visuals.
